BJP gherao 'New TMC' MLA Sandipan Saha's house in Entally, protest over 'cut money'
A chilling incident rooted in relationship conflict unfolded in Kolkata’s Posta police station area, leaving one person dead and another severely injured. The event occurred on Tuesday when a young man, identified as Rajendra Sharma, went to his girlfriend’s house and allegedly stabbed her multiple times. During the knife fight between the two, Rajendra reportedly fell from the four-story balcony with the knife still in his hand. The severely injured man was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead, while the assaulted young woman, Shikha Singh, is currently undergoing treatment.

The incident took place at Shikha Singh’s residence on Shiv Thakur Lane. Shikha, whose husband Deepu Singh passed away two years ago, lives with her two children. She had begun a close relationship with Rajendra Sharma, a resident of Jagmohan Mallick Lane, while her husband was alive, and their relationship intensified into a romance after her husband’s death. However, relationship tensions began to mount when Shikha started pressuring Rajendra for marriage.
Sources indicate that Rajendra, who reportedly lacked stable employment, was unwilling to commit to marriage, leading to frequent arguments between the couple. On Tuesday morning, Rajendra arrived at Shikha’s house while she was alone. Neighbors heard the woman’s screams and saw her descending the stairs covered in blood. Separately, locals found Rajendra lying bloody and severely injured on the street below. Police arrived quickly, and while the woman is hospitalized, Rajendra was declared dead.
